Blue Ridge Cabinets was started by two lifelong Contra Costa residents with a passion for custom woodwork. At the age of 20, they began working together at a retail furniture store and opened their own business in 1976 after years of performing side jobs for friends and family.

When they began, they were working full time out of a garage in Concord, but over the years continued to acquire land and expand their operations to cover the entire spectrum of cabinets, purchasing a wider array of materials and working with faster, more efficient tools.
